Dinosaur trail map
If you’re looking for a good Dinosaur National Monument trail map, you should go with the National Geographic Trails Illustrated map, which shows the Green and Yampa rivers in great detail. It also does a great job of showing the various backcountry roads and trails, and the topographic lines mean you probably won’t get lost! This is much better for navigation than any map available from the park.
Here’s a Fossil Discovery Trail map (40 kb), showing the points of interest along this trail that departs from the Quarry Visitor Center. Here you can view a number of dinosaur, clam, and fish fossils.
Dinosaur campground maps
The Dinosaur campground map (100 kb) shows the location of each campground in the park, including the very remote ones that are primitive and have difficult road access.
The Green River Campground map (120 kb) shows the campground located beyond the Quarry Visitor Center on Cub Creek Road along the Green River. This is the largest and most popular campground in Dinosaur.
Here’s a Split Mountain Campground map (50 kb) that also shows the River Trail trailhead, picnic area, and Green River boat ramp. Only groups can camp here (except when Green River Campground is closed).
The Gates of Lodore Campground map (120 kb) shows the northernmost campground in the park, located along the Green River upstream of the Canyon of Lodore. This isn’t easily accessible from elsewhere in the park.
This is a Rainbow Park Campground map (90 kb), showing this remote campground with no water. It’s located in a beautiful spot along the Green River and has just a few primitive campsites near the boat launch.
Green River area maps
Here’s an Echo Park map (80 kb), showing the end of the unpaved road at Echo Park on the Green River, across from Steamboat Rock. You’ll find a campground and trails in this area.
This is a Dinosaur river map (150 kb), focusing on the river-related visitor features: boat ramps, river campsites, and river access roads. It also shows which roads are impassable when wet.
This river campsite map (60 kb) shows just the campsites accessible by water through the various canyons and bends in the Green and Yampa Rivers. This is helpful for planning your river trip!
Scientific Dinosaur NM maps
