Delaware Water Gap trail maps

The maps below all work pretty well for short day-hikes, but if you’re going to do a lot of hiking or anything overnight, you might as well grab a National Geographic Trails Illustrated Delaware Water Gap map. What I like most about this one is that it shows topographic lines as well as trail mileages, so it makes it much easier for trip planning and determining how long hikes might take.

Here’s a northern Delaware Water Gap trail map (480 kb), focusing on the areas around the Dingman Falls visitor center and north (mostly on the Pennsylvania side). It includes mileages and trail difficulties.

This central Delaware Water Gap trail map (400 kb) shows over a dozen trails near Park Headquarters and Millbrook Village (mostly on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River).

This is a southern Delaware Water Gap trail map (350 kb), showing trails near the gap itself and around the Kittatinny Point Visitor Center. There are a couple Pennsylvania trails shown, but most are in New Jersey.

Here is a map of the Appalachian Trail (600 kb) running through Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It includes campsites,  junctions, and trail mileages between points of interest.

This McDade Trail map (800 kb) shows the 31-mile long McDade Trail, labeling trailheads and services offered along its route through Pennsylvania. A trail description and overview is also provided.

Delaware Water Gap camping maps

This is the Delaware Water Gap campground map (800 kb) which shows the drive-in car accessible campgrounds as well as river campsites — and all their GPS coordinates. (Dingman’s Campground is the main one.)

The Delaware River campsite map (300 kb) is a black-and-white printable map showing all the river campsites with their size (number of sites and number of people per site) and GPS coordinates.

Here’s the Dingmans Campground map (580 kb), showing the 133 individual sites and layout of the park’s large drive-in campground, including which sites are closest to the river. (Hint: go for the tent sites!)

The Rivers Bend Campground map (150 kb) shows the details of this large, five-site group campground in New Jersey, including the overlook, restrooms, picnic tables, and trail access to the river.

This Valley View Campground map (150 kb) shows the five campsites, common areas, fire rings, restrooms, trail to the river, and parking for this group campground.

Various Delaware Water Gap maps

The Delaware Water Gap boating and canoeing map (850 kb) labels river access points for boats and canoes with GPS coordinates. The different access points are suitable for either boats or canoes.

This is a Delaware Water Gap visitor center map (800 kb), labeling all the NPS visitor facilities as well as other local visitor information centers that may not be associated with the national park.

Here’s a Delaware Water Gap geologic map (3.4 mb), which includes an inset map zooming in on The Gap area and the Kittatinny Point Visitor Center and a location map of the park’s regional context.

The surficial geology map of Delaware Water Gap (3.8 mb) shows various rock layers and geologic features in relation to roads, visitor centers, and points of interest, overlaid on a shaded terrain map.
